Dining in Seattle

There is a charm about downtown Seattle that draws me there. I love the uniqueness of the small shops around Pike Place, and no, I am not referring to Nordstrom et al. The cobblestones around Pike Place, the mom ‘n pop eateries, boutiques, and specialty shops certainly add to to the city’s charm. And the variety of restaurants challenges you to prioritize what it is that you need to try next. Every time I’m in Seattle, I MUST try different places. On Saturday, I had the pleasure of dining at Ponti Seafood Grill. Despite the unexpected snow, the ambience quickly made me forget that it was miserable outside. It was dark but adequately lit. Lights were dimly set, and there were just enough candles to complete the mood. I ordered the Seafood Stew, and for starters, I had Crab Spring Rolls.

Fisherman Stew – photography is not my art, though I had considered taking classes years ago. This picture does the Stew no justice, so I suggest you order this dish and taste for yourself.

Clams, another starter

Buffalo Ribs – this was absolutely delish! However, we were debating how small the ribs were, considering buffalo are much larger animals than cows. We were expecting larger bones and more meat!

I am not huge on desserts, but when I saw “Custard Trio” on the menu, I was in. Chocolat Pot de Creme, Creme Caramel (White Chocolate), and Hazelnut  Creme Brulee (I think I have it right.) Yes, yes, yes! Do have what I’m having!

It’s a happy ending to your evening.

Which of the Trio tempts you most?

  1. Hi Lillian; These dishes look absolutely delicious. I can see on the pics that the chef used a variety of tasty ingredients and presentation was also wonderful. I will definitely need to try out this restaurant when we are next in Seattle. I will be thinking of you!!!
